THE UNICORN HUNTERS - BY KATHERINE ARDEN -
About the Book: Anne of Brittany was a child when France invaded and drove her royal father to his death. Now she is a young woman, sovereign duchess of an occupied realm, and France means to crown their conquest by marrying her to their king. Such an alliance would put her title, her lands, and her body forever in the hands of her enemies. But Anne refuses to be the last duchess of Brittany. Her only hope of resisting conquest is another alliance sealed with marriage, so Anne arranges a daring last gambit: a secret betrothal to Charles of France’s greatest rival. But secrets are hard to keep in a world where rival courts spy on each other with diviners. The forest of Brocéliande was once the haunt of Merlin the Enchanter and the long-lost faerie queen. But magic is long gone from Broceliande, except for the occasional sight of a unicorn and one critical quirk: This ancient forest is completely hostile to divination. While pretending compliance with France, Anne plans a unicorn hunt in Brocéliande. A bit of pointless pageantry. A diversion so she can wed in secret. Or so she thinks. In this rich and epic novel, the author of the acclaimed Winternight trilogy turns the real history of a remarkable woman into an unforgettable tale of mystery, enchantment, and the price of power.

children’s read aloud - gilbert & the ghost
Join us along with local author, Heather Stigall on October 12 from 11:00am-11:30am for a Children’s Read Aloud of her book, “Gilbert & The Ghost”.
Gilbert often feels invisible, just like the ghost at 632 Savannah Street. Despite his family’s disbelief, Gilbert leaves gifts for the ghost: a friendship bracelet, a plate of cookies, even a drawing with a note. When each disappears one by one, Gilbert finds that believing and friendship are worth the effort.
For kids who might often feel unseen, Gilbert and the Ghost is a ghostly tale of overcoming obstacles and finding friendship in mysterious places. Gothic, whimsical illustrations make this picture book perfect for spooky season, while its earnest themes make it worth a read all year round.
Space is limited; first come, first served.

hot girl murder club - by ashley winstead -
About the Book: What’s a girl got to do to get some fame, a few million record sales, and justice for murder? Ten years ago, aspiring singer-actress Scout Sage lost the only thing that mattered: her sister, Georgia. Ever since Georgia’s mysterious death at a Hollywood party, Scout’s done her best to honor her memory, clawing her way through the industry and collecting a network of climbers along the way, fellow hot girls in stilettos with cutthroat ambition, a new Hollywood order. But when a slew of targeted murders makes headlines across L.A., all pointing to Scout as the killer, she turns overnight from a mid-tier pop star into the world’s most famous (alleged) murderer. Now everything she’s worked to build—including the justice she wants for Georgia—will fall apart unless Scout can prove she’s not guilty. Meanwhile, the young and unusual detective assigned to her case, herself no stranger to tragedy, begins to unearth secrets not even Scout knows, let alone her millions of new fans. Particularly about the ways Georgia’s death connects to an even older pattern of crimes long hushed over in Hollywood—an old reign of terror that, if brought to light, could be the fuel that ignites a reckoning the world over.

Book Signing - The Faceless Queen
Stop by November 14th between 1-2:30pm to chat with local author Frankie Diane Mallis and grab your signed copy of her newest release!
Steal the face of the princess. Claim the heart of her prince. Don't fall in love.
Exiled after the death of her mother, the Queen of the Witches, Princess Samara was forced to hide as a dancer for years amongst her enemies in the Kingdom of Eskalon, a place where discovery means death.
But Samara can’t be found by the witches either. She was born cursed, an Azete, a faceless one. A kind of witch whose shapeshifting power depends upon stealing the lifeforce of others through touch.
Samara has feared her power ever since her mother’s death, barely daring to use it except to feed off the men she entertains, and only in order to keep up her disguise. But when a chimera attack on her tavern leaves her exposed, she’s brought back home to the current witch queen, and tasked with preventing a dangerous prophecy in exchange for forgiveness by the witches.
In Eskalon, the tyrant king’s son, newly betrothed to a foreign princess, will father a child with the power to destroy the witches forever–unless Samara stops it. To save herself and her people, she must steal the face of the princess, claim the heart of her prince, and bear the child of prophecy herself.
But the prince’s bed isn’t what she expected, and maintaining her stolen face requires enormous amounts of magic and power. With all eyes on her, and everything at stake, feeding becomes more dangerous by the day. Tensions are rising between warring factions vying for power. The kingdom is growing unstable as the prince’s political enemies close in, monstrous attacks by chimera terrorize the land, and Samara is in the center of it all.
But what’s even more dangerous to the mission is Samara falling in love with her enemy, a man who doesn’t know her true name, a man who has never seen her true face. Except when he dreams of a woman that looks just like her.
The closer she gets to the prince, the closer he gets to the truth of what she is. But her true face and power, the power she fears, may be the key to saving the man she loves, but only if she risks everything: her people, her life, and her heart.
The Faceless Queen, book 1 is a new romantasy duet is perfect for fans of In the Veins of the Drowning, Shield and Sparrow, and The Bridge Kingdom.

About the Book:
What was broken will be remade.
Deep in the heart of the continent, Koschei the Deathless is stirring. Though he's been bound to a mountain lake for millennia, the insidious threat of his return now spreads across the Fae territories, attracting powerful allies hell-bent on reclaiming what was once theirs: the human lands.
The Night Court will not stand idly by while innocents are attacked. But with Prythian still piecing itself together in the wake of the devastating Hybern War, the task of uniting is proving more difficult by the day.
To make matters worse, those who rule and protect the Night Court are reeling from recent betrayals and revealed truths. The rifts dividing them seem insurmountable.
But to defeat Koschei's creeping shadow, they must find a way back to each other and resurrect their former alliances. To survive, they must find a way to repair the splintered harmony all around them.
